Miriam Stone

TEAM LEADER, Oswestry Juniors 1

Miriam (better known at camp as Minnie) is married to Kenny, and they have a wee boy, Ruairidh, who’s been going to camp with his mum and dad since he was three months old! Minnie is originally from England, but she now lives in Inverness, where she works as a children’s nurse.

Minnie’s first experience of camp was at an international FCYC in Sweden when she was 16. Having not grown up in the Free Church, attending camp was a completely new experience, but she loved her time away and very quickly made friends with whom she’s still in touch. She’s been leading at Oswestry Juniors 1 for a number of years now, and loves that every camp brings different experiences! She enjoys getting to know the young people and discussing with them who Jesus is, and what it means to be a Christian today.

Minnie loves music, dancing, being social and drinking tea.

Colin Stone

TEAM LEADER, Oswestry Juniors 1

Colin is from Castletown in the north of Scotland, but now he lives in Glasgow and works as a journalist and voiceover artist – keep an eye out for him on the telly!

Colin’s been going to camp every summer since 2001, when he was at Dalguise boys’ camp and his dad, Howard, was in charge. Three football and five Oswestry camps later, Colin was reunited with his dad as a leader at Oswestry Juniors 1, and he’s been part of the team there for the last 10 years!

Having felt homesick himself in his first few times away from home, Colin has a real passion for building rapport with the campers as soon as they arrive at camp. He loves getting involved in every aspect of camp, from team competitions to tidying up and from daily quizzes to helping in the kitchen. Colin wants to display the love of Jesus through his own actions.

In his spare time, Colin writes and records music and is also a big movie nerd.
